Code of Conduct between Mentor and Mentee.

Working together through Banksia Academy program.

This agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between a ("Mentor") and a ("Mentee").

1. Purpose and Goals: 

The Mentor agrees to provide, although not limited to, guidance, support, and expertise to the Mentee in personal development, skills development, professional development and career advice. The primary goals of this mentoring relationship are: to assist the Mentee in learning new skills, setting goals and realising career objectives.

2. Frequency and Duration: 

The mentoring relationship will last for a period of 20 hours with mentoring sessions negotiated between the Mentee and Mentor. Regular sessions will take place via video phone calls and/or phone calls at both parties discretion.

3. Communication: 

Both Mentor and Mentee agree to treat each other with respect and professionalism at all times. Each will avoid all forms of discrimination, harassment, or offensive language based on gender, race, religion, or any other characteristic. The Mentor will provide feedback in a constructive and supportive manner. The Mentee will be receptive to feedback and use it as an opportunity for personal growth.

4. Confidentiality: Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of all discussions and information shared during the mentoring relationship, unless otherwise agreed upon.


5. Boundaries: The Mentor and Mentee agree to respect each other's boundaries and personal space. Professional boundaries should be maintained throughout the duration of the program. Be aware of objectivity, confidentiality and an equal mission of the Mentor/Mentee professional relationship.  Discuss and agree upon communication methods, frequency, and availability.


6. Mentor's Responsibilities:

  • Help their Mentee come up with goals and objectives of the mentoring.

  • Provide guidance, advice, and insights related to the Mentee's goals.

  • Share relevant resources, experiences, and knowledge.

  • Offer constructive guidance, feedback and support the Mentee's personal and professional development.

    • Celebrate all achievements and successes.

7. Mentee's Responsibilities:

The Mentee commits to actively participate in the mentoring process, to set and work towards goals, and be receptive to feedback and guidance provided by the Mentor.

  • To commit to your meetings and to be respectful of your mentors time and to give your Mentor advance notice if unable to attend any of your scheduled sessions.

  • To enter the process willing to learn new skills and to expand your knowledge.

  • To work with the Mentor to set clear goals and objectives for the mentoring relationship.

  • Prepare for mentoring sessions, bring relevant questions, and actively engage in discussions.

  • Implement action plans and suggestions provided by the Mentor.

8. Reporting violations:

Report any violations of this code of conduct to the Banksia Academy contact programs@banksiaacademy.org. By adhering to this code of conduct, mentors and mentees can create a positive and supportive environment that fosters growth, learning, and empowerment. It's important to review and discuss the code of conduct at the beginning of the mentorship relationship to ensure that both parties understand and agree to the expectations set forth.

9. Termination: Either party may terminate this Agreement by contacting your Banksia Academy contact or emailing programs@BanksiaAcademy.org. Please give two weeks notice to allow each party to organise their workloads. We realise that from time-to-time, there will be reasons why each of you may be unable to proceed with the mentoring or individual sessions. 

By accepting these terms and conditions, the Mentor and Mentee acknowledge their understanding and agreement to the terms outlined in this Mentoring Agreement.
